‘Kim Kardashian: Hollywood Game’ Stolen By Kris Jenner? Faces Lawsuit Vs Kung Fu Factory!
Kung Fu Factory is suing Kris Jenner for allegedly stealing copyrighted material and ideas for the "Kim Kardashian: Hollywood" app, according to IBT.
Jenner is facing a legal battle with the video game developers who claim that Kris and her agent contacted them in 2011. Kris and her rep were interested in creating a Kardashian-themed video game.
Kung Fu Factory then brainstormed, came up with a format and presented a proposal for the app to Kris' rep, according to the claim obtained by TMZ.
Kung Fu included everything in the proposal, from how the users would play the game to how the Kardashian sisters would look like in the game.
Months went by and the company did not hear a word from Kris Jenner or her rep, according to sources. They eventually found out that the project was dead.
To help launch her animated second self, Kim Kardashian partnered with Glu Mobile in 2013. Glu is a company known for creating games for tablet devices and smartphones.
The app has 30 million active users, and it allows fans to navigate through Hollywood with the "Keeping Up With The Kardashians" star.
In related news, Karl Lagerfeld is said to be joining said game app in cartoon format.
"Beyond excited to welcome the one and only @KarlLagerfeld and his gorgeous F/W collection to the #KimKardashianGame!" Kim announced Monday on Twitter and Instagram.
Furthermore, Kim has recently credited her husband rapper Kanye West, for encouraging her to enter and explore the world of gaming.
"Kanye really talked me into doing this partnership," said the reality star to Mail Online in June. "He always wanted to do music for video games, so he thought it was the coolest thing in the world to have a video game with a character of myself."
Kung Fu Factory is demanding damages and profits from the "Kim Kardashian: Hollywood" game. The app made $200 million in its first year.
