Have More Sex, Says The South Korean Government
As per the recent research reports, the fertility rate of South Korea currently stands at 1.25 children per woman. In comparison to the ideal fertility rate, this is quite low. Keeping this in mind, the Korean government has begun an initiative wherein citizens are being offered incentives to reproduce. In other words, if one is a resident of South Korea then they will be paid to have sex with their partners for the purpose of reproduction.
According to a report published by Koreaboo, one of the most important factors that must be taken into consideration in order to make a country successful is the mental and physical health of its citizens. A robust fertility rate really does help one maintain a healthy lifestyle thereby contributing to the overall economy as well. Replacement fertility is a concept that describes the rate at which the total number of births takes place, while also keeping the population constant. The ideal number is set at 2.1 children per woman. Therefore, when it comes to comparing South Korea's birth rate, it is naturally quite low.
The report further goes on to suggest that this is especially the situation in South Korea because of numerous factors including cultural and economic by nature. According to a report published by The Independent, world's other countries who have a well-equipped cultural and economic health life, have a better replace fertility rate as well. It has been discovered that those countries that don't end up achieving their respective targets are often observed as forcing planned strategies onto their masses in order to encourage procreation.
Like mentioned previously, South Korea's fertility rate is far below the ideal one. The nation is offering numerous incentives to those who reproduce including the ones that are monetary by nature.
