Seventeen Expresses Support For NU’EST & Kim Samuel

The boys of Seventeen didn't hold back when they were asked about Pledis labelmates NU'EST and former Pledis trainee Kim Samuel. 4 members of NU'EST and Kim Samuel are participants on the hit Mnet survival program 'Produce 101 Season 2' and Seventeen shared what their relationship is with their senior labelmates and former colleague Kim Samuel.

Member Woozi said, "S.Coups and I trained with the NU'EST members in the past. I cheered them on ever since they decided to appear on 'Produce 101 Season 2.' Of course, I'm still rooting for them even now." Seungkwan added, "I have a great affection for the NU'EST members. I really hope everything goes well for them, and I'm really cheering for them."

Seventeen fans know that NU'EST and Seventeen have had a close relationship and have been friends since before both groups debuted. The Pledis groups trained together before being split into different groups. On the June 8 broadcast of MCountdown, Kang Dongho and Seventeen were able to stand on the same stage. Kang Dongho was part of the 'Knock' team who won the concept challenge and performed 'Open Up' on MCountdown, while Seventeen was there to promote 'Don't Wanna Cry' and was even a candidate for the 1st place on the show. S.Coups commented, "In order to keep up appearances, Baekho (Kang Dongho's stage name) brought us coffee."

Aside from NU'EST, Seventeen also showed affection for Kim Samuel, who was supposed to debut with Seventeen had he not switched to another agency. Mingyu shared how amazed he was at how Samuel has grown, saying, "When I saw him on the show, I noticed that Samuel's voice had changed and he had gotten a lot taller. We happened to coincidentally meet on the street once, and when he called my name with his changed voice, it felt weird."

Seventeen's leader S.Coups had nothing but words of praise for Kim Samuel and commented, "I think Kim Samuel is really doing well. Even when he was younger he had a lot of talent and worked hard. He showed a kind of passion that is hard to see at that age."
