'Vikings' Season 5 Spoilers: Bjorn Will Die After Loss In Mediterranean? Lagertha To Appear In Only 3 Episodes?
In "Vikings" Season 4, Ragnar's son Sigurd was killed by his brother Ivar the Boneless after a heated disagreement in the aftermath of their victorious crusade to avenge the death of the Viking king. However, it seems that the upcoming season of the History Channel series will be featuring another death of one of Ragnar's sons.
According to a report by Movie Pilot, there is a strong possibility that one of Ragnar's sons will be killed in "Vikings" Season 5 given that the alliance between the brothers has ended following their united attack against King Ecbert. The alliance started to show cracks at the end of the last season when the brothers were deciding whether to adhere to their father's wishes and give the Vikings land to farm to continue voyages to conquer more lands.
Series creator Michael Hirst hinted that with Ragnar's death in "Vikings" Season 4, the focus will shift to his remaining sons Bjorn Ironside, Ivar the Boneless, Hvistek and Ubbe. According to the report, if History Channel sticks with the actual facts, Bjorn may face defeat in the Mediterranean resulting in the loss of many men and many ships. Along with rumors of a son's death, the possibility also looms that it could be Ragnar's firstborn that gets the axe from the show.
It is believed that Magnus could be Ragnar's son although the Viking denied having intimate relations with Kwenthrith. The rumor also raises the possibility of a possible return of Travis Fimmel, who played the iconic character in flashback form in "Vikings" Season 5 to answer the question. The rumor was further fueled by a recent post by Kathryn Winnick, who plays Lagertha in the series, that seemed to show Fimmel hanging out with his former co-stars in a bar. It turned out that it was not Fimmel after all but another cast member who was together with Winnick in the post.
Apparently, Ragnar's sons are not the only ones in danger of being killed off in "Vikings" Season 5. It has been rumored that Winnick's character Lagertha will only be appearing in three episodes in the upcoming season and may be killed off by Aslaug's sons for revenge, Korea Portal earlier reported.
