AMD News: Launches Its Next-Gen GPU Radeon Pro Vega
When it comes to powerful graphic card systems, the first name that appears is certainly AMD's. True to its impression, the company has officially launched its next-gen GPU - the Radeon Pro Vega - specifically for the professional market. The newly launched professional graphics card is expected to fire up Apple's upcoming iMac Pro systems among other professional gadgets.
According to several reports published online recently, AMD's Radeon Pro Vega is specifically built with the company's latest Vega 10 GPU. It is interesting to note how the same GPU also powers AMD's upcoming Radeon Vega Frontier Edition along with Radeon RX Vega graphics cards. However, when it comes to comparing the Vega 10 GPU with the other chips including Polaris 10/20, the former is significantly larger by nature. Featuring a total of 256 texture mapping units, the card-set also houses 64 next generation Vega computer units. The latter are reportedly arranged in islets of two - out of which, each of them comprise of individual computing engines.
According to a report published by Tweak Town, these computing engines also further include two other distinct computing clusters that pack a total of 512 stream processors tagged along with 32 texture mapping units as well. To total up, the chip consists of almost about 4096 stream processors along with 256 texture mapping units. As far as the front-side of the chip-set is concerned, the AMD Radeon Vega comprises a total of 64 render output units. These make up to about 16 distinct render back-ends that are able to connect the systems to 2048-bit wide-IO HBM2 memory interfaces as well.
According to another report published by Game Debate, it appears like the next-gen AMD Radeon Pro also houses a new 'rasterizer' that allows the system to convert polygons into pixels. Exactly when will these be arriving in the market is still uncertain.
