‘My Secret Romance’ Season 2: Sung Hoon, Song Ji Eun To Reprise Roles? Fans Start Petition
"My Secret Romance" recently capped off its 13-episode run on OCN that featured a happy ending between Sung Hoon and Song Ji Eun's characters. Shortly after the release of its finale episode, many fans expressed their wish to see a Season 2 extension for the said series.
OCN's first foray into the romantic comedic drama genre turned out to be a hit among many Kdrama lovers. "My Secret Romance" became one of the popular series that the said South Korean cable channel released in the first half of 2017. Despite the cliché storyline about a rich man falling in love with a shy girl, the Sung Hoon and Song Ji Eun starrer captured the interest of avid viewers.
Recently, an online petition was launched by avid fans that requested the companies behind "My Secret Romance" to consider a Season 2 run. Posted on change.org, the said petition was addressed to co-producers Godinmedia and Drama Fever, as well as OCN, to extend the said drama and feature more happy moments between Sung Hoon and Song Ji Eun's characters.
Titled "Give My Secret Romance a Season 2," the said petition highlighted how the last few episodes of the OCN drama comprised of sad moments that made the fans "miss the good times between [Sung Hoon and Song Ji Eun's characters]." Described as a "beautiful" and "visually stunning" production, the online petition also highlighted the strong onscreen chemistry between the two lead stars that contributed to the said production's success.
However, it is still unclear if the drama's showrunners will release a "My Secret Romance" Season 2. Neither Godinmedia, OCN nor Drama Fever commented on the said online petition news.
Meanwhile, "My Secret Romance" topped Drama Fever's weekly list of popular Asian series. The Sung Hoon and Song Ji Eun starrer retained its number one spot on the said chart for the fifth consecutive week, according to a list posted on the said Warner Bros. owned streaming site.
