Park Seo Joon, Kim Ji Won’s Drama ‘Fight For My Way’ Sees Rating Uptick; ‘My Sassy Girl’ Makes Impressive Debut
Several new South Korean dramas recently showed strong TV ratings such as "Fight For My Way" and "My Sassy Girl." Recently, the Park Seo Joon and Kim Ji Won starrer posted a huge jump in viewership shares, while nationwide ratings of Joo Won's new historical series registered strong numbers.
Viewership shares of Park Seo Joon and Kim Ji Won's romantic comedy series continue to climb with the KBS drama's recent episode crossing over the 10 percent mark. Released on May 29, "Fight For My Way" episode 3 posted ratings of 10.7 percent across the South Korean nation, according to Nielsen Korea, as cited by Soompi. The same episode also reached viewership ratings of 11.4 percent in the Seoul metropolitan area.
Given the drama's recent TV ratings jump, nationwide viewership shares for the said "Fight For My Way" episode registered an increase of 4.7 percentage points from the previous episode's 6 percent ratings. Across Seoul, the Park Seo Joon and Kim Ji Won starrer saw an uptick of 5.1 percentage points from its earlier ratings of 6.3 percent.
Meanwhile, Joo Won's new historical series "My Sassy Girl" debuted with impressive TV ratings of 9.3 percent and 10 percent across the nation and in Seoul, respectively. MBC's suspense drama "Lookout," also known as "The Guardian," reached nationwide ratings of 5.6 percent and 6.6 percent for episodes 5 and 6 that were aired on May 29, Monday.
In other news, Park Seo Joon and Kim Ji Won's co-star Kim Sung Oh recently made a special rating promise to fans. During the earlier press event for "Fight For My Way" the said actor joked that if the drama's viewership shares exceed 30 percent, then the "Hwarang" star and "Descendants of the Sun" actress should marry each other, All Kpop reported.
However, Park Seo Joon corrected his "Fight For My Way" co-star and shared that he would instead go on a Busan tour with some of the viewers if the drama reaches the 30 percent viewership mark. Given that many of the KBS series' scenes were filmed in the said location, that actor is willing to show some of Busan's interesting sights to lucky fans.
"Fight For My Way," "My Sassy Girl" and "Lookout" airs every Monday and Tuesday on KBS, SBS and MBC, respectively. Watch a teaser clip of Park Seo Joon and Kim Ji Won's drama below:
