Idol Group Brand Reputation Rankings For The Month Of May Released!

The Korean Business Research Institute analyzes a huge amount of data every month to determine which idol groups rank high in terms of brand reputation. The institute concludes the rankings by examining data based on a group's participation, media coverage, communication, and community awareness. This month, the research institute looked over 113,336,088 pieces of data from April 27 to May 28 and the results are here.

Twice ranks #1 on the list, with a total brand reputation index of 9,358,971. BTS came second, with a score of 8,036,445 and Lovelyz takes the third spot with 5,387,716. There are 25 idol groups who made it to the list - starting from the 4th place to 25th: Blackpink, Seventeen, Sechskies, Laboum, EXO, Red Velvet, Apink, Winner, Triple H, VIXX, SHINee, Rainbow, Girls' Generation, Big Bang, BTOB, Momoland, Pristin, Oh My Girl, AOA, Infinite, Cosmic Girls, and EXID.

For the female idol member brand reputation ranking from April 12 to May 13, Twice's Nayeon took first place with a brand reputation index of 864,556, while Apink's Son Naeun placed second with 776,358. EXID's Hani followed at third place with a brand reputation index of 769,163. The Korean Business Research Institute said, "Five members of Twice and four members of Girls' Generation made it onto the list. The members of Girls' Generation have consistently carried out solo activities, causing their individual brand reputation rankings to go up."

Twice and BTS seem to be the 2 consistent idol groups that top the brand reputation rankings for the past few months. For the boy group ranking, BTS has already topped the list for several months, earning a score of 7,899,583 from April 12 to May 13. The head of Korean business Research Institute said, "BTS has been holding the No. 1 rank in brand reputation rankings among boy groups for seven months in a row. Recently their Japanese single "Blood, Sweat, Tears" rose to the top of the Japanese Oricon daily singles chart. They also became the first boy group to receive an official invitation to the American Billboard Music Awards. As a result, many of their keywords involved 'Billboard Music Awards' and 'Oricon,' contributing to their score."
