‘Goblin’ Actor Lee Dong Wook Talks Gong Yoo Bromance & Potential Future Projects Together
Lee Dong Wook and Gong Yoo are known to have one of the best bromances in the South Korean entertainment industry following their portrayal of immortal beings in the fantasy series "Goblin." Recently, the "My Girl" actor shared his thoughts about working with the "Train to Busan" star and the possibility of them starring in a new production together.
"Goblin" remains to be one of the popular South Korean dramas given its intriguing storyline and the amazing onscreen chemistry between its lead stars. One of the elements that made the said tvN series memorable was the bromance between Gong Yoo and Lee Dong Wook. Many fans even described the two celebrities' on-screen pairing as legendary.
In a recent interview, Lee Dong Wook commented that he would be open to working alongside his "Goblin" co-star in a new project. The actor even described the said potential opportunity as a "great" chance for him and Gong Yoo to display their unique bromance to fans.
However, that chance might not happen in the near future, Soompi quoted the said celebrity as saying. Despite the low chances for Lee Dong Wook and Gong Yoo to be offered to star in a new production so soon after "Goblin," the "Wild Romance" actor remains hopeful that a future project will have them acting alongside each other again.
Given some of the comedic scenes that Lee Dong Wook shared with Gong Yoo in the said tvN fantasy series, the actor mentioned that he would like for the two of them to do a production with a funny storyline. He shared, "So if there's something we can do together, since 'Goblin' was filled with moments where we engaged in a lot of banter, I think it'll be fun if we can do something more comic in the future."
In other news, Lee Dong Wook's former co-star Gong Yoo recently confessed to having no idea that "Goblin" will be a big hit among avid K-drama fans. In a video snippet of the actor's interview with CNN Talk Asia, as posted on the news site Facebook page, the "Train to Busan" star stated that the drama's unique and fresh storyline played a big role in capturing the viewers' interest.
