Seventeen Celebrates 2nd Year Anniversary, Trends Worldwide
Fans of Seventeen, or Carat, celebrated the 13-member group's 2nd year anniversary online by trending the hashtag #2YearsWithSeventeen worldwide. It has been exactly 2 years since Seventeen debuted and caught the hearts of many with their first title track 'Adore U'. On May 26, 2015, Pledis Entertainment debuted their 2nd boy group and the boys have been doing well since.
But to say that they've been 'doing well' is a total understatement. In 2 years, Seventeen has won and achieved so many feats and awards. Thousands of their fans tweeted congratulatory messages, citing everything the group has achieved within a short span of 2 years. For the anniversary, fans highlighted the 'upgrades' of Seventeen including the amount of audience at their events and the number of album sales. One fan tweeted, "From worrying if 1,000 people could fill up the audience to sold out arenas, our boys are growing so fast," along with two photos comparing a number of people attending Seventeen's concerts in the past to today.
Aside from 5 music show wins, Seventeen has also bagged major awards including accolades from MAMA, Gaon, Seoul Music Awards, Melon Music Awards, and Golden Disk Awards. For a group that doesn't belong to the Big 3 companies, Seventeen has been faring well by themselves even with a relatively small company like Pledis. The boys have always been praised for their ability to personally craft their own music and choreography.
Even today, the self-producing idols are making another impressive attainment with their 4th mini album 'Al1'. Their new album ranked #1 on the Hanteo charts for 3 consecutive days now, selling an accumulated total of 121,381 copies as of writing. In less than a week, 'Al1' has already surpassed 115,000 copies, a striking upgrade from their previous album sales. Seventeen also ranked #1 on the iTunes World Chart in several countries like the Philippines, Indonesia, Singapore, and Kyrgyzstan. What a beautiful anniversary gift for Seventeen. Happy 2nd anniversary, boys!
