Kim Kardashian’s Tweet About Manchester Attacks Backfires
Following the horrific attacks inManchester during an Ariana Grande concert, dozens of celebrities and many notable personalities have offered sympathies and prayers for the victims and the singer. One of the famous celebrities who took to social media to express grief is Kim Kardashian, and boy did people chastise her for it. The TV star received so much backlash that she deleted her post on Twitter and Instagram altogether.
The post in question is a photo of Kim and Ariana Grande in a concert, accompanied by the caption, "Concerts are supposed to be a place where you can let loose and have fun. So scary to not feel safe in this world. Ariana Grande, I love you."
What irked people was the fact that in the photo, Kim seems to be the focus while Ariana is just seen at the side. People immediately accused Kim of making the incident about herself, as the focus in the photo was on her and not much on Grande.
Kardashian was quickly bombarded with hate, with comments like "Kim k knew what she was doing when she posted that pic of her dead center and Ariana off to the side. always gotta make sh*t about herself.", "The need for you to post a pic of yourself...disgusting", and "Kim Kardashian is the only person who would post a picture of themselves as a "tribute" to the Manchester bombing... actually sad."
However, others took Kim's side and argued that there were also other celebrities who posted photos of themselves yet people chose to single out Kardashian.Several Twitter users claimed, "Miley Cyrus, Demi Lovato. Many other posted pictures with Ariana at the concert that included themself. Get off of Kim," and "She was talking about concerts and posted a photo of her with Ariana at a concert. Where's the issue?"
Indeed, there were a handful of other celebs who posted photos of themselves to accompany their messages of sympathy. Singers like Madonna and Miley Cyrus posted pictures of them with Ariana along with their messages of support but all the backlash went to Kim Kardashian, who promptly deleted the post from her Twitter and Instagram.
