'Pokemon GO' News, Update: Niantic Hinted Of A Legendary Event; Anti-Spoofing Measure Goes Live; Move Set Changes In The Works?
"Pokemon GO" players' long-awaited legendaries might be underway this summer as one of Niantic's leads have hinted of such event. In just five words, the said top hat has aroused fans' curiosity and quite a number of trainers are very much convinced that an event involving legendary monsters of the lore looms.
On May 15, the 21st Webby Awards celebrated the most influential people and entities on the web. Niantic's "Pokemon GO" was hailed as Best Mobile Game alongside four more Webbies as Archit Bhargava - the game maker's global product marketing lead - accepted all of them.
During Bhargava's "five word speech," he stated that "this summer will be legendary." Attendees' reaction - who could also be "Pokemon GO" players - can be heard afterward as they already have an idea what the lead is trying to imply.
It can be recalled that Chief Executive Officer John Hanke has teased early on that legendaries are heading towards "Pokemon GO" this year, according to Comicbook. Also, the promotional trailer that came out almost a year ago suggested of such event where genetic Pokemon - Mewtwo can be seen slugging it out with Pikachu. In the meantime, the AR game's Adventure Week event is still on a roll that will end on the 25th.
Meanwhile, Niantic has heeded the call of the "Pokemon GO" player base as they are contemplating on making tweaks within the mobile app's so-called move sets, Express reported. The publication claims that one of the players has reached out to the game maker about such where Niantic replied that it is in the pipeline.
Moreover, recent reports also suggest that Niantic has just rolled out another update setting its crosshairs against spoofers. With the new game patch, players who have bot accounts will be "blinded" in scanning rare monsters in "Pokemon GO." Hence, cheaters will not be getting some of the good stuff the game has to offer.
