Samsung Galaxy Folder 2 Is A Clamshell Phone With Impressive Features

The new Samsung Galaxy Folder phone comes with a fingerprint sensor, a 4.2-inch dual OLED display and a Snapdragon 430 CPU. Reports also suggest that it will have 64GB of internal memory, a 5MP front camera, a 12MP rear camera and a 2300mAh battery.

Samsung Galaxy Folder 2 is also expected to have a wireless charging, Samsung Pay, and a likely IP67 certification. According to reports, the upcoming device has already received certification from Wireless Power Consortium, and may even come out with a "special edition" soon.

Meantime, Samsung Galaxy Folder LTE is the preferred smartphone of 75 percent of people with ages 60 to 70 years old, along with LG Wine Smart Jazz, based on reports. Also, the Folder LTE device comes less expensive compared to the Samsung Galaxy Folder 2. Meanwhile, there is no announcement yet if the Galaxy Folder 2 will be released outside South Korea.

In other news, clamshells hit success in the early 2000s, and the most popular were the Motorola Razr, although Samsung also came out with some clamshells like the Convoy 3, t159 and Gusto 3. Incidentally, the cheaper foldable handsets are popular among the elderly in South Korea, Gizbot reported.

Samsung Galaxy Folder 2 Proves Flip Phones Are A Thing

Samsung Galaxy Folder 2 was launched in 2016, just weeks following the launch of the premium Galaxy S8. According to reports, while this is something strange, it also proves that the company continues to believe that there is still a market for Android flip phones. It is important to note, however, that the handsets had limited availability, with W2017 being sold only in China, CNET reported.
