Seventeen Is Emotional In MV Teaser For ‘Don’t Wanna Cry’

On May 21 at exactly 12:17 A.M., Seventeen finally dropped the group teaser for their upcoming track 'Don't' Wanna Cry'. Just a few days before, the highlight medley for their 4th mini album 'Al1' was released, giving fans snippets of 8 tracks. Fans instantly heard a noticeable change in Seventeen's music - the group seems to have matured and grown as artists.

In the group teaser, more parts of the song 'Don't Wanna Cry' were revealed. After releasing 13 individual teasers, Seventeen released a 'SPECIAL SPOT' video. The members are seen brooding and walking in several cinematic locations like beaches, streets, and deserts. Seventeen shot and filmed the music video in Los Angeles. We even get a quick glimpse of the new choreography (most probably made by the Performance Unit again) that seems to look complicated. We can also hear members Wonwoo and Mingyu delivering an emotional verse from the song in the teaser.

The music video for 'Don't Wanna Cry' will drop on the 22nd, as well as Seventeen's 4th mini album, 'Al1'. Before the group does their sold-out comeback showcase on the 23rd, Seventeen will be joining other idols to perform at K-Con Japan on May 21. However, only 12 members are slated to be on the K-Con stage as Vernon recently sustained a minor injury. Vernon was reportedly rushed to the hospital after hurting himself during practice. Pledis announced on May 20 that although Vernon's injury is not serious, the doctor advised him to rest for a few days so that he could fully recover and perform on the day of their comeback.

Seventeen has made a name for themselves as self-producing idols. They gave us happy, youthful tracks like 'Mansae', 'Pretty U' and 'Very Nice'. Now, with a new era coming, we will see that Seventeen is more than capable of producing deeper, and more mature songs. The change in image and music is timely, as the group approaches their 2nd year anniversary this month. Will Seventeen maintain their signature cheerful and boyish charms? We'll find out when 'Don't Wanna Cry' music video is released on the 22nd.
