Millions of fans are now excited for the upcoming release of "The Winds of Winter" book. Now, new reports are claiming that George RR Martin is still working on the much-anticipated novel, which also gave hints that it might not be released this year.

NewsWeek shared that avid followers of the "A Song of Ice and Fire" book series might have to prolong their agony as it is impossible for George RR Martin to release the tome very soon. According to the news outlet, the veteran writer has yet to finish the book, which has been under development since the year 2011.

"And yes, before someone asks, I AM STILL WORKING ON WINDS OF WINTER and will continue working on it until it's done," George RR Martin has revealed of the much-anticipated "The Winds of Winter" book. "I will confess, I do wish I could clone myself, or find a way to squeeze more hours into the day, or a way to go without sleep. But this is what it is, so I keep on juggling."

In the same report, the publication shared that George RR Martin will also be working with HBO for the up and coming prequels of "Game of Thrones" series. The New Mexican author even revealed that he has asked the help of five writers to help him finish the scripts of the spinoffs.

Meanwhile, Poor Primadonna has previously revealed that it would be impossible for "The Winds of Winter" to be released in 2017 despite the revelation of George RR Martin that it would be finished soon. While there were reports saying that the book is now on its proofreading phase, the publication has debunked it as the veteran writer has a lot on his plate right now.

George RR Martin has recently launched the StageCoach Foundation, which aims to help young and local filmmakers improve their craft. "The Winds of Winter" author is reportedly tapping the help of some of his friends in Hollywood to hone the skills of the fresh talents.
