‘Game of Thrones’ Spin-Offs In The Offing, George R R Martin Completed The Books
While fans await the arrival of July 16th as 'Game of Thrones,' Season 7 is supposed to premier then; there are numerous reports emerging online that claim that there are as many as four new spin-offs shows to the drama-action TV-series on its way in the near future.
According to a report published by Variety, entertainment network HBO has apparently hired four new writers with the intention to create numerous spin-offs for its hit show 'Game of Thrones.' Sources close to the news suggests that there are as many as four new projects set to arrive in the upcoming future.
As everyone aware, George R R Martin - the writer and creator of the books on which the 'Game of Thrones' is based - is said to have completed the books. If the show were to follow what is mentioned in the books, then the chances of the show finishing off in the next two seasons are high.
As noted by the Hollywood Reporter, there is much competition that 'Game of Thrones' faces along the way. Numerous other award-winning shows with rapidly growing viewership have made it difficult for 'Game of Thrones' to survive till the end. And given that there are only a few episodes to show in the show, it would make sense that the show's potential if further fuelled by other creative artists.
The Hollywood Reporter further goes on to list the numerous writers that are hired to jot down a plot for the future of the 'Game of Thrones.' According to the report, HBO has apparently hired Max Borenstein among others to further the storyline of the show. Max Borenstein first rose to fame after his work in Godzilla that was released back in 2014. After that, he was hired to write for Kong: Skull Island and it is known what a big hit the movie turned out to be.
Apart from Max Borenstein, Jane Goldman has also been hired by HBO to further the plot of 'Game of Thrones.' She is primarily known for her work in Miss Peregrine's 'Home for Peculiar Children' and 'X-Men' movies. The two other writers are Brian Helgeland of Legen and Mystic River movies and Carly Wray of Westworld and Mad Men fame. Stay tuned for more 'Game of Thrones' updates.
