iMac 2017 Release: Apple To Upgrade Lineup At WWDC in June, ‘Pro’ System Features Latest GPU, Intel Xeon Processor, 2TB of Storage
Apple has confirmed that there is a new "pro" iMac in 2017 which is designed to target creative professionals. Apple has started sending invites for its WWDC happening in June and it is expected that the company might unveil its latest iMac at the event. The upcoming iMac has everything you need for including latest GPU, Xeon Processor, but no touch screen.
Previously, Tim Cook has teased that there is a new iMac 2017 in our roadmap and added that "Nobody should worry about it." Recently, in a press conference, Apple's marketing head Phill Schiller and Software engineering Senior Vice President Craig Federighi also confirmed that the company is working to prepare the new higher specifications of iMacs, with configurations specially included with the "pro" users in mind.
According to Mac Rumors, Apple traditional hosts a key event on the first day of WWDC. In this event, we can expect the updated version of iOS, tvOS, WatchOS and macOS. Besides, we can even expect new hardware update including iMac 2017 and Apple's rumored Siri Speaker.
The iMac 2017 will offer two variants including a 21.5-inch and 27-inch model. Both the models are expected to run on latest discrete GPU and Intel's Xeon E3-1285 processor. Besides, Apple has also promised to embed the models with ECC RAM between 16 and 64GB and up to 2TB of NVMe SSE storage.
Apple's CEO Tim Cook has announced that the company has generated more than $25 billion in revenue for the previous year and they are aggressively investing in iMac 2017 in future. Right now the company is focusing professional users of iMac. The company wanted to deliver a high-performance pro system to videographers and cinematographers.
As reported by Digitimes, the two new iMacs for 2017 are expected to be manufactured by Quanta Computer, as Quanta is the largest AIO PC maker in 2017. Although Apple will unveil the upcoming iMac in June, the company will start shipping the systems in late 2017.
