Kim Won Hae Cherishes Working With Park Bo Young and Park Hyung Sik in 'Strong Woman Do Bong Soon'
Kim Won Hae recalled his experience working with Park Bo Young and Park Hyung Sik in "Strong Woman Do Bong Soon." The veteran actor said he knew the actress even before they were cast in the JTBC series, but admitted that he has never heard of the idol-actor back then.
The "SNL Korea" host revealed he first saw Park Bo Young in her 2008 drama "Scandal Makers." In fact, Kim Won Hae said the actress reminds him of his daughter because of her petite physique.
"I really wanted to star in a production with her and I was finally able to work with her this time," he said as per Soompi. "Even her smallest movements are professional. We had great chemistry while acting."
When asked about Park Hyung Sik, the veteran actor confessed he never got the chance to get to know him in "Nine: 9 Times Time Travel" where they both starred. Kim Won Hae was even unaware that the actor was also a member of a boy group.
"I didn't know his name back then. He was so young back then but now he's a respectable actor who takes on lead roles. I didn't even raise him but I feel so proud. Even my daughters are in love with him," explained.
Kim Won Hae played the roles of Kim Kwang Bok and Oh Dong Byung in "Strong Woman Do Bong Soon." Korea Times cited the JTBC series earned mixed response from the public and critics for the actor's gay character.
Oh Dong Byung's role is described as the "crazy bitch of the office" in the hit series. The character garnered much attention for representing the sexual minority. A staff of "Strong Woman Do Bong Soon" said they intended feature diverse human relationships through Kim Won Hae's gay character and bromances.
"As viewers are ready to accept more diverse characters and are open-minded, more dramas tend to portray sexual minorities," the staff explained.
