Apple Fans Await iPhone 7

The iPhone 8 release date 2017 window is reportedly being pushed to another release window next year, but the wait might be worth it considering the planned changes in the phone's design. Casual fans and Apple enthusiasts alike are eagerly anticipating the release of Apple's next flagship smartphone.

Unfortunately for those who passed on the iPhone 7 in hopes of buying the next iPhone, the wait will be a lot longer than expected. According to Express, the iPhone 8 release date 2017 window was originally planned to drop on September, along with the iPhone 7S and 7S Plus variants.

However, sources indicate that certain "technical challenges" and shortages of "key components" might be the culprit in the iPhone 8's delay. This led sources to believe that the recent shortages and delays will ultimately push the iPhone 8 release date 2017 window even further. After all, sources point out that there would be some significant changes to be made in terms of the iPhone 8's design.

It's reported that Apple is planning to get rid of the smartphone's lone physical button on the front. In doing so, this suggests that the next iPhone's display will be much larger, spanning all the way to the lower part of the phone. The source also mentioned that a fingerprint scanner might be incorporated on either the back of the phone or the bottom area. It's likely that the delay of the iPhone 8 release date 2017 window gives way for Apple to follow through an OLED full-screen design similar to the Samsung Galaxy S8. According to BGR, the next Apple smartphone might not even be called an "iPhone" at all.

At this point there isn't much tangible evidence about the iPhone 8 design other than certain suppliers confirming that Apple is yet to place orders of their next smartphone's alleged fingerprint scanners. This information gives some implications that consumers might not see the presence of a physical fingerprint scanner once the iPhone 8 release date is reached.

The source mentioned that it's likely for Apple to go with a fingerprint scanner design that utilizes the OLED screen instead of a dedicated physical button. If the iPhone 8 release date 2017 launch won't materialize on the planned date, potential buyers will have to consider getting the iPhone 7S and iPhone 7S Plus instead.
