Sony Xperia XZ Premium News Update: Geekbench Scores Out; To Boast An Impressive Video Camera Feature
After it was made known at this year's MWC in Barcelona, Sony's Xperia XZ Premium is without a doubt one of the much-awaited smartphone releases for 2017. The hype about the upcoming handset has sparked yet again as the phone's benchmark scores were spotted just recently and are currently making rounds as of late.
Primate Labs' benchmark computing site - Geekbench has posted a benchmark result for the Xperia XZ Premium as it was codenamed Sony G8141. Per the result, the handset garnered a test score of 1943 and 5824 for both of its single and multi-core tests respectively. Furthermore, it was also revealed that the device will be carrying Qualcomm's octa-core Snapdragon 835 SoC.
As for the Xperia XZ Premium's specs, the phone will have a 5.46-inch display with a 3840x2160-pixel resolution and will be laid with a Gorilla Glass 5 protective covering from Corning. Moreover, the screen will also bear other features such as triluminous display and being an HDR10 compliant.
The Xperia XZ Premium is expected to be preinstalled with an Android Nougat operating system, alongside the aforementioned chipset. Qualcomm was also tapped by Sony in providing the upcoming handset with an Adreno 540 GPU, GSMArena reported.
Another feature to look out for are the Xperia XZ Premium's camera. The rear shooter will boast a 19-megapixel image quality while its front-facing snapper will be at 13 megapixels. The video capabilities could be one of the phone's major selling points as it will boast a super slow-mo feature where users can record videos at 960 frames per second (fps).
