New Fitbit Smartwatch Leaked: It Looks Amazing With Tons of Features.
May 2nd, 2017: People have been anticipating the release of a smartwatch by Fitbit for quite some time now. Code named "Higgs", the watch has been pictured for the first time on the internet and it looks more or less like what you would expect: a better version of the Fitbit Blaze.
People at Yahoo Finance managed to get a couple of renders of the rumored smartwatch. Codenamed 'Higgs', the smartwatch can be seen in two variants, one with blue straps and gold bezels, and the other one with a black strap and a silver finish.
Recent reports have suggested a delay in the smartwatch's release and the recent reveal from Yahoo Finance also stresses on the same. The delay in the release is due to a series of production mishaps.
The report also quotes a source saying "It was originally planned for this spring to likely get ahead of whenever Apple plans their normal fall announcement, Fitbit always likes to try and get in front of it."
Yahoo also got the following quote from a source, "In one of the final prototypes, the GPS wasn't working because the antennae weren't in the right place. They had to go back to the drawing board to redesign the product so the GPS got a strong signal."
Reports also suggest the lack of waterproofing in the first iteration of the Fitbit smartwatch. This is due to the fact that waterproofing the smartwatch is proving to be a tough issue for Fitbit, just like the GPS signal.
Other prominent features of the smartwatch include its attractive price tag of 300$. The watch will also feature a 1000 nit screen, built-in GPS, heart rate monitor, contactless payments, Music from Pandora and up to four days of battery life.
The company will also launch a supposed pair of headphones alongside the smartwatch in two different colors, titled "Nightfall Blue" and "Lunar Grey".
