Move Over Unicorn Frappuccino; Here Comes Starbucks Midnight Mint Mocha Frappuccino

After launching their Unicorn Frappuccino, Starbucks is on a roll and unveils the newest Frapp called The Midnight Mint Mocha Frappuccino.

Starbucks’ Midnight Mint Mocha Frappuccino is the latest addition to the company’s line-up of indulgent blended beverages. The latest frapp is made with extra-dark cocoa blended with coffee, milk, and ice with mint sugar crystals. Midnight Mint Mocha Frappuccino’s middle part offers a layer of whipped cream and is topped with more whipped cream and a dusting of dark cocoa powder. 

“We started by thinking of the heydays of summer. We were inspired by thoughts of dark starry nights, looking up at the sky with a cool summer breeze,” Jennica Robinson, of the Starbucks beverage development team, said in a statement.

The dark beverage of Starbucks has become part of the trend of black-colored foods that have appeared on Twitter and Instagram. It also includes black macarons, charcoal ice cream, black cupcakes and black pasta.

The grande size of Starbucks’ Midnight Mint Mocha Frappuccino is composed of 52 grams of sugar, which is equivalent to seven Reese’s Peanut Butter cups. Its fat content is 25 grams that is similar to Big Mac and it has 470 calories that is equivalent to 10 Chicken McNuggets.

Starbucks’ Midnight Mint Mocha Frappuccino is the total opposite of the bright and color-changing Unicorn Frappuccino. The Unicorn Frappuccino was launched for a limited time in April and it became a viral sensation.

Another frapp returning to Starbucks menu for the summer is the S'mores Frappuccino. This is another layered Frappuccino with milk chocolate, coffee, milk, and ice. The drink’s bottom is filled with marshmallow whipped cream and graham cracker crumbles.

Starbucks is hoping that the look of Midnight Mint Mocha Frappuccino will help be popular as well on social media sites like Instagram and Twitter despite its limited availability.

Midnight Mint Mocha Frappuccino of Starbucks is available starting on May 2 in most U.S. and Canadian stores, while supplies last through the summer.
