"Gangnam Style" singer PSY will be making his first variety show appearance in five years on "Ask Us Anything" on May 13.

The singer will be recording the episode on May 4, just days before the upcoming release of his eighth studio album on May 10. According to Soompi, PSY will be performing his comeback track on the program.

On his Twitter account, the singer and the funny man posted details about his eighth album and surprised fans with the treat. Ahead of the singer's announcement, reports already broke out that Apink's Son Naeun and Lee Byung Hun would be appearing in PSY's two upcoming music videos.

Meanwhile, another project is up PSY's sleeves. The singer will be coming face to face with IU on SBS' "Fantastic Duo 2." PSY and IU will be recording for the program on May 16, but their episode will only be released a month later.

PSY and IU are dubbed as two of the most popular and most influential names in the music industry. The latter just dropped her new album on April 21 and it immediately rose to the top of the music charts. IU is also promoting "Palette" on various music programs.

PSY will also be doing the same thing with his eighth studio album, and both PSY and IU's comebacks are expected to make headlines in South Korea in the coming weeks.

In 2012, PSY rocked the world with the release of "Gangnam Style." The song instantly went viral across the globe. At that time, PSY, 34, admitted that he did not expect "Gangnam Style" to make such a huge impact on a lot of people. While speaking with the New York Times, he said, "I've only done this for 12 years, only for Korea, not for overseas at all. I didn't expect anything like this. So what can I say? Everything moves too fast."
