'Code Geass' Season 3 Announced; Teaser Suggests Of The Demon Prince's Return
The mecha-themed anime - "Code Geass Lelouch of the Rebellion" simply known by fans as "Code Geass" has been announced to be getting a third installment. The good news has been made known through a teaser trailer as it featured the demon royalty - Lelouch vi Britannia/Lulu.
Albeit the announcement, details about "Code Geass" third season's release date were nowhere in sight during the sizzler reel's run. The good thing though is the once thought to be dead Lelouch is very much alive not to mention that season 3 will come in 2D animation, Entertainment News Access reported. For the uninitiated, fans of the anime series were a bit irked with one of the franchise's side stories - "Akito the Exiled" that was released in 2012. The mech scenes were featured in 3D and only lasted for five episodes.
One of the reasons why it didn't get much love from fans during that time was the aforementioned 3D rendering of the mech suits since fans of the series were very much acquainted with 2D action sequences. It looks like the "Code Geass" showrunners have heeded the call of the fans and reverted back to the usual animation process.
It said that Code Geass Season 3 will unfold after what has transpired during the "Zero Requiem" event. As aforementioned, Lelouch was featured in the video suggesting that he will be back in the show's next installment. This made fans very much elated since the protagonist's death was shown during "Lelouch of the Rebellion R2" that came out in 2008, according to Comicbook.
As mentioned early on, there is no definite date yet on when "Code Geass" Season 3 would return. If talks are anything to go by though, it is believed that the series will be seeing the light of day in 2018. In the meantime, watch the recently released trailer here:
