Heineken has released a new ad experiment called “World’s Apart”, which is a total opposite of Pepsi’s recent ad that sparked controversies.

“World’s Apart” of Heineken is part of their #OpenYourWorld campaign. The ad features three sets of people with completely different opinions to one another. They have set the strangers a task to develop their own table so they can learn more about each other.

After that, they have discovered that all of them have different ideologies from each other. The pairs can choose to sit down, enjoy a Heineken beer and discuss how they feel. All of them have agreed to this setup.

Heineken’s new ad is considered as an antidote to the controversial Pepsi ad where model Kendall Jenner brings protesters and police together with a can of soft drink. Heineken has succeeded where Pepsi failed spectacularly.

The ad was also comprised of the one-on-one interviews that Heineken conducted prior to the experiment. Heineken’s ad has revealed that each participant was sitting across from a person of polar opposite beliefs.

“We know each other better than people who’ve known each other for 10 minutes should,” one of the women says to her partner on the Heineken ad.

Heineken’s four-minute commercial has already been viewed over 3.6 million times since it was launched on Heineken’s YouTube channel on April 20. It has also received a lot of praises on social media, stating that the company has handled the political issues very well compare to Pepsi. The Pepsi ad became insensitive to movements like Black Lives Matter.

According to a Heineken spokesman, the people in the ad are not actors and they are real. The company has been working for the past few months with a non-profit organization called the Human Library that have people with differ views to actually talk.
