'Strong Family' Update: Did The SBS Drama Intentionally Used Jessica's Name On Deceased List?

by Yanyan Bartolome / Apr 27, 2017 11:46 AM EDT
Jessica Jung shares here 16 beauty tips to looking like a K-Pop Star.

In their April 24 episode, SBS Drama "Super Family" placed the name of former Girls Generation member Jessica Jung in the deceased list of a funeral home. The show only featured the list for a few seconds but several viewers still noticed the issue. A few hours after the incident went viral, the production team behind "Strong Family" clarified and issued a statement that the incident was only a coincidence.

Aside from Jessica, her sister Krystal was also included in the registry but was placed under the guest's section. Some viewers who reacted to the incident are thinking it was not coincidental since the episode also used a familiar word in the message section for the departed. According to All KPop, the message reads: "Unnie I miss you... I love you..."

According to a fan's reaction, the network and the show obviously directed the insult to the Jung sisters, even using the word "Unnie" in such a familiar way. The follower added that although SBS may claim that it was only a coincidence, the network still needs to apologize to the Jung sisters, especially to Jessica.

According to the released statement of the show's production team, there was no intention to attack the celebrity siblings, and it would be illogical to do such act on the Jung sisters, Soompi reported. What do you think? Did "Strong Family" subtly attack Jessica for a few seconds?

Jessica Jung is an American-born Korean artist who recently celebrated her 28th birthday last April 18. Aside from being a musician, Jessica is also a fashion entrepreneur having a brand called "Blanc & Eclare." During her birthday, she thanked her fans via social media app Instagram for their warm birthday greetings.

In a post she said, "I feel so special I am who I am today because of my golden stars. Love you guys to the moon & back!" For more information about Jessica Jung, check out the video below.
