'Guardians of the Galaxy 2' Cast: Secret's Out! Miley Cyrus Has A Role in Upcoming Sequel
Miley Cyrus is confirmed to play a secret role in the upcoming “Guardians of the Galaxy 2” as the former Disney star has been revealed to take on the voice of the character Mainframe. The news began to make its way to social media sites on Thursday following a press junket for the highly-anticipated sequel.
A blogger, Sarah Ruhlman, took to Twitter to share the following message: "Fun fact from the @JamesGunn @Keyfeige interview happening now! @MileyCyrus is the voice of Mainframe." Aside from this revelation, “Guardians of the Galaxy 2” actor Dave Bautista, who plays Drax, somehow confirmed the news when he spoke to the Huffington Post. “I heard that she's uncredited and a voice somewhere,” the actor said.
“Guardians of the Galaxy 2” has already been raking in plenty of positive comments from screenings. As noted in Ruhlman’s tweet, Miley Cyrus will be the voice of Mainframe. Based in the comics, Mainframe is known as a technology evolving from Vision. “In the Guardians future, the Vision had evolved to make up the operating system of an entire planet. Calling himself Mainframe, this hero from the past was tasked with protecting the shield of Captain America and later joined the Galactic Guardians,” Den of Geek explained.
Aside from Miley Cyrus being revealed to play a role in “Guardians of the Galaxy 2,” director James Gunn also announced that a third installment will be making its premiere in the future. The helmer posted the announcement on Facebook, explaining the reasons behind his decision to come up with a third movie- and it’s not about the money. "I needed to do it because it was what I needed to do. I have never made choices in my career based on anything other than passion and love for the stories and characters, and I didn't want to start now," Gunn said.
