The episode titled "Crazy Whitefella Thinking" was written by Damon Lindelof & Tom Spezialy and directed by Mimi Leder.

A promo video for "The Leftovers" Season 3, Episode 3 is highly anticipated. The network is expected to release it after the conclusion of Episode 2 airing on April 23. It will revolve around the events of "Crazy Whitefella Thinking" and it is expected to reveal more about the upcoming segment.

In an interview with Variety, "The Leftovers" actor Justin Theroux, who plays the role of Kevin Garvey Sr. talked about the conclusion of Season 3. He describes the finale as "enormously gratifying" and "perfect."

"It throws a lot of questions out but Damon was like, look, things are just not going to get answered," Theroux said while talking about the ending of the series. "We don't get answers in our own lives. There are strange and anomalous things. There's no payoff at the end of every month of our lives."
