'The Blacklist' Season 4 Episode 16 returns on April 20 with a special two-hour episode.

In the upcoming return of "The Blacklist," fans will finally get to see the origin of Mr. Kaplan (Susan Blommaert) and his connection with Reddington (James Spader). Since the return of the series is a two-hour episode, both episodes 16 and 17 will be aired on April 20.

"The Blacklist" Season 4 Episode 17 is entitled, "Requiem" and is expected to feature how Red and Mr. Kaplan came to know each other. It will also feature a young Liz and her family with Mr. Kaplan putting on her yellow gloves for the first time, executive producer Jon Bokenkamp said in his interview with Entertainment Weekly.

Meanwhile, episode 16 of "The Blacklist" features Reddington's hunt for Dembe Zuma (Hisham Tawfiq) as he will be able to confirm that the latter is the culprit behind his passing out in episode 15. In the previous episode, Red met with his accountants in the evening, and Dembe gave him scotch with poison while abandoning him in a green station wagon.

As released by NBC, "The Blacklist" Season 4 Episode 16 synopsis says that Red will be tracking down Dembe to locate his whereabouts. The protagonist will finally get a lead on Dembe's location once they realize Aram is missing (Amir Arison). If proven true, the outcome may become a shock to Red as Dembe is his trusted bodyguard.

Bokenkamp already revealed in his previous interview with the same publication that the revelation will greatly affect Red. In response to the incident, Red will reflect on what Mr. Kaplan told him in the past.

The protagonist will also re-assess his actions and figure out what he can do with his business now that it is threatened with Dembe's knowledge on its inside out. For more information about "The Blacklist," check out the promo for its next episode in the video below.
