Mac Pro Will Receive Performance Upgrades
Apple has just announced that Mac Pro will get performance upgrades to the base configuration of the old Mac Pro design. For those who can wait, reports suggest that the new revision will likely be out in 2018.
Mac Pro will take longer to redesign, according to Apple Senior VP of Worldwide Marketing Phil Schiller. The Senior VP added that the new device comes with a new pro display, although no specific details of the resolution were mentioned, as well as the capabilities. Nevertheless, there are speculations that the 4K is going to be the baseline for the Mac Pro 2018, even up to 5K or higher just as likely from Apple, Studio Daily reported.
New Mac Pro Will Likely Have Intel Kaby Lake Processor
The highly anticipated refresh of Mac Pro is expected to have the current 14nm Kaby Lake as its next processor, along with other processors from the line that was reported to appear in beta code of MacOS Sierra 10.12.4. In comparison with the current Skylake generation, Kaby Lake has a slight increase in processing power, although it features bigger improvements to the onboard GPU and power efficiency.
Meantime, "Coffee Lake" is the optimization believe to be released in the second half of the year. It is said to offer a 15 percent precision improvement on Kaby Lake. According to reports, the fourth chip generation that uses the 14nm process, "Coffe Lake" is expected to become the third in a row of Intel's development technique - a concept that the company has retired in March last year, Apple Insider reported.
