Samsung has gathered huge attention through Galaxy S8 and S8+ releases. The devices look promising and it seems that they have potentials to return the lost pride for the company. But it is discovered that the devices are lacking a major security feature.

After the release of Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+, the YouTubers have conducted numerous tests on the devices for their viewers. And one of the channels exposed the drawbacks of a security feature. The Youtuber has found a minor problem with its facial recognition security feature.

The facial recognition security feature is designed to unlock the phone by letting the front camera scan their face. But as described by NZ Herald, the system can be tricked into opening up by simply using a photograph of its owner for the camera to scan. This is far from secure as anyone with the image can unlock the latest Samsung Galaxy S8 just by a photo of the owner.

One of the YouTube channels named iDeviceHelp tested the feature one of the many to enable users to unlock the device but found it was far from security. By holding up a second phone depicting a selfie photo of his face on the screen, the user was able to quickly trick the device into unlocking itself. At the launch of Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+, the company has described its suite of security option as full proof, but now we can change it to "Foolproof."

"We offer the highest level of biometric authentication - fingerprint and iris - to lock your phone and authenticate access to Samsung Pay or Secure Folder," the company said. Although the company has promised to offer secure biometric authentication, it is not as secure as it described. Besides, Samsung Galaxy S8's digital assistant Bixby even lacks the support of enough languages. The newborn AI of Samsung only supports two languages, English and Korea.
