"Final Fantasy XV" fans were in a bit of a shock on Friday with the announcement made by Square Enix art director Isamu Kamikokuryo that he stepped down from his post. Kamikokuryo has been with the company for almost two decades as his artworks for the ever popular RPG franchise are very much widespread and has gained such distinction.

The news came out as the art director took to Twitter to announce his resignation from Square Enix. In the said tweet, Kamikokuryo described working for Square Enix as a wonderful experience from the time he started sketching on some concepts for "Final Fantasy X" until his final project for the company which is "Final Fantasy XV." He also expressed his gratitude towards the game maker for such an opportunity and letting his talent be known by the game franchise's fandom, Gematsu reported.

In another post, he highlighted that he still feels hesitant about his decision, though he pointed out that he wants to draw something new and at the same time revive his writing stint and diction work as a freelancer. He went on thanking the staff that he worked with for the longest time.

In other news, Square Enix has hinted early on that there will be a mobile game variant for their current title "Final Fantasy XV." The title might be arriving sooner than anyone thought of as reports suggest that the game dubbed as "Final Fantasy XV A New Empire" has been purportedly soft launched in the Oceania region (New Zealand and Australia). Once thought to be developed by Machine Zone, the new mobile game was actually made by Epic Action and is as of late available on both the App Store and Play Google Store, according to Ubergizmo. Check out a couple of videos featuring Kamikokuryo, and the new "Final Fantasy XV" mobile game here:
