FedEx Warns About Black Friday, Christmas Eve Holiday Shipping Peak
FedEx is preparing early for a record-breaking volume of shipping during the holiday season. FedEx announced on Monday that they expect an increase of shipping during the peak period of holiday shipping between Black Friday and Christmas Eve.
According to an article by USA Today, those planning to order gifts online should begin early. FedEx expects a record of 317 million boxes to be shipped by the company during its peak period. This figure suggests a 12.4% increase from last year's holiday season between Black Friday and Christmas Eve.
Futhermore, Cyber Monday on November 30 and the first few weeks of December are predicted to double the company's daily shipping numbers.
Experts agree that since online shopping is on the rise, delivery networks can expect a heavyload of shipments unlike any other year.
"E-commerce and the boom it gets during the holidays is far surpassing what anyone really expects," Logan Purk, an equity analyst stated.
According to reports, major retailers like Macy's, Khols, and Walmart are increasing the amount of season workers. They are especially increasing the number of employees hired to fulfill online orders.
The best plan of action for online shoppers is to avoid the cyber-lines and order early to insure ontime delivers.
