Facebook Direct, Stories & Snapchat-Like Camera Update Unveiled; All Major Effects So Far
By now, many readers might be familiar with the newest addition to the Facebook mobile app. The recent update to the social media website app reportedly features three new upgrades namely - Facebook Direct, Facebook Stories and the Snapchat-like camera effects.
By the looks of it, Facebook does not feel the shame in adding a completely copied feature to its mobile app for Android and iOS devices. The new Facebook Snapchat-like camera effects comprise of a number of effects. Even though the concept is a copied one, it still features interactive effects, masks, filters and frames with more unique and creative designs.

Facebook has also been reported to add in camera effects that will feature various movie teasers such as "Despicable Me 3," Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2," "Alien: Covenant," "Wonder Woman" and "Smurfs: The Lost Village" to name a few. Furthermore, the new Facebook mobile app camera effects feature will also incorporate creative effects from the likes of visual artists such as Hattie Stewart and Douglas Coupland.
Other updates on the Facebook mobile app features comprise of Facebook Stories, which lets users share multiple videos and photos through a collage-like collection above the main news feed. However, users will be able to manually decide whether they want these images or videos to show up on the screen by posting them manually. The website further reported that this sharing feature will be visible for 24 hours with the people it is shared.
Another Facebook mobile app update notes of Facebook Direct, which offer direct sharing with individual or grouped friends. Once the receiver views the content, it is removed by Direct after the conversation is over. The Direct icon is reportedly displayed on the top left corner above the News Feed. Tech Crunch reported that Facebook had started testing the Stories update in Jan. 2017, which is now available for update in many countries around the world.
