'Star Wars Rebels' Showrunner Hinted What To Expect On Season 4; To Feature Mandalorians' Grim End?
"Star Wars Rebels" capped off the show's third season with a two-part finale dubbed "Zero Hour." That said, avid viewers of the series are now anticipating its fourth installment that is now rumored to be grittier that than ever.
After "Star Wars Rebels'" season finale - that some "Star Wars" buffs deemed it to the most "Star Wars-sian" episode yet, producer Dave Filoni sat down with Andi Gutierrez from the YouTube series "Rebels Recon" and talked about the show's season ender including its next installment. The showrunner made an assurance to fans that season 4 will usher in the return of famed Rebel commanders and at the same time connect the dots that will lead to the events in 2016's "Rogue One," Screen Rant has learned.
Filoni revealed the return of Senator Mon Mothma of the Galactic Senate's Loyalist faction and Saw Gerrera. He added that in "Star Wars Rebels" Season 4, fans will witness on how the relationship of these two key characters will break down and eventually break apart despite the fact that they are fighting for the same cause.
The showrunner also hinted about the iconic X-Wing fighters entering the fray in "Star Wars Rebels'" fourth season. Furthermore, the YouTube series also showcased a concept art for the show's next season suggesting the grim fate of the Mandalorians.
Meanwhile, it has been announced on "Star Wars'" official website that a sneak peak for "Star Wars Rebels" Season 4 will be shown to attendees at the upcoming Star Wars Celebration event in Orlando. Filoni will be spearheading that segment of the event alongside other special guests. Non-attendees, on the other hand, will still get the chance see the Season 4 preview as it will be streamed online.
