'For Honor' Sale On Steam And Other Gaming Retailers; Ubisoft Responds To Pricey Microtransactions
Game maker Ubisoft is getting generous as of late as they are shelling out huge discounts on its recent releases of AAA titles. It would also be a great time for would be players of "For Honor" to grab a digital copy of the game as the title is included in the massive blowout.
The developer hopped in on Steam's publisher sale that kicked off during the weekend as it was mentioned that "For Honor" was a part of. However, the massive Ubisoft price cut offer only ran during that period, according to PCGames N.
Steam has slashed 17 percent from "For Honor's" original price and went as low $47.49. Other newly rolled out Ubisoft titles like "Watch Dogs 2" and "Steep" were trimmed 41 and 50 percent getting price tags as low as $35.39 and $29.99 respectively. A U.K.-based website - SimplyGames seemed to have a better offer as they too are offering "For Honor" at a lower price. Physical copies of both Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions of the game are now priced at $37.39.
Meanwhile, "For Honor" players are quite irked about its pricey microtransaction schemes. A Redditor that goes by the moniker bystander007 did some Math about it and came up with a conclusion that in order to obtain all the items within the game, players need to have at least $730 and two and a half years of worth of gameplay, Breitbart reported.
"For Honor" game director Damien Kieken answered such player concern stating that gamers are not required to purchase all the items within the game adding that it does not make any sense. He even compared the game's setup to Blizzard's widely popular "World of Warcraft" where one would not even dare to unlock all the items for each of its heroes. Watch Kieken's interview here:
