One of BTS' recent concerts in the U.S. featured the unexpected arrival of the local police. After receiving reports of the fandom's special "bomb" light stick, members of the police force conducted a thorough inspection to ensure the safety of the concertgoers.

The Newark police force, as well as the Essex County Bomb Disposal Unit, made a surprise inspection during the South Korean boy band's first-night concert in New Jersey. Held on March 23, Thursday, at the Prudential Center, BTS concertgoers were subjected to an intensive security check as they lined up to enter the said venue, All Kpop reported.

It appears that the police force deployed special security measures given the BTS fan community's lighted sticks being sold at the said event. Dubbed the "Army Bombs," members of the police's bomb disposal unit, as well as a search dog, were sent to the concert site to examine the said light sticks. The inspection lasted for around 10 minutes before the police force deemed the "Army Bombs" safe and venue free of any explosives.

Meanwhile, the said concert marked BTS' first performance in the U.S. for the Kpop group's "The Wings" tour. Apart from the March 23 Newark show, the septet also held a second performance at the same concert site. The South Korean boy band is also set to travel to Chicago for a March 29 show before heading to Anaheim for a two-night performance on April 1 and April 2.

After North America, BTS will embark on the Asian leg of their "The Wings" concert tour. The Kpop boy band will visit Thailand, Indonesia, Philippines, Hong Kong, Australia and Japan.

In other news, BTS sold more than 40,000 tickets during the South American part of their world concert. In an announcement released by the band's agency, as obtained by Korea Herald, Big Hit Entertainment shared that 44,000 fans attended the Kpop group's shows in Chile and Brazil that were held in March.

BTS' jumpstarted their "The Wings" tour with a two-night performance in Seoul on Feb. 18 and Feb. 19. The said world concert tour is expected to end in early July.
