‘Pokémon Go’ Water Festival event runs until March 29, with Shiny Pokémon like gold-colured Magikarp & shiny red Gyarados.

In this past few months, the number of players in the "Pokémon GO" community drastically declining. In hope for old players to log in again in the game, this week, Niantic announced another event which focused on water type Pokémon.

The said event called the Water Festival. At this event, a lot more water type Pokémon will appear in the game.

Despite not being included in the Niantic announcement, this "Pokémon GO" Water Festival event actually corresponds with the World Water Day, which was initiated by the United Nation, to bring awareness to the worldwide clean water crisis. According to Forbes report.

Starting March 23, 2017, this "Pokémon GO" Water Festival event will run until March 29, a one whole week event for the AR game's loyal players. For more details, here are the things that players could expect with this event.

There are three main Pokémon in the "Pokémon GO" event's spotlight; Squirtle, Magikarp, and Totodile, of course with their related evolutionary form, Wartortle, Blastoise, Gyarados, Croconaw and Feraligatr. An ice type Pokémon, Lapras, also hinted having more chances of spawning on its designated areas during the event.

As noted by Eurogamer report, with all those spotlighted water type Pokémon, as of now, there are still only two Pokémon reported spotted since the "Pokémon GO" event begun, the gold-colored shiny Magikarp and the shiny red Gyarados. According to players, there are a lot of water type Pokemon spawning everywhere and most of them are from the Gen 1 list, however, no Squirtle, Totodile, or Lapras being found.

Since there is evidence of Shiny Pokémon sighting in the "Pokémon GO" event, speculations claim that, aside from red Gyarados and gold Magikarp, more Shiny Pokémon will spawn during the event. For now, Niantic still mum whether these Shiny Pokémon will still appear after the event.
