Apart from Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill), a deluge of fan theories surrounding Rey (Daisy Ridley) has been suggested as "Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi" nears. News has been making rounds online claiming that the force-sensitive scavenger may have been taken away from her family.

"Star Wars" fans are very much aware by now of numerous speculations about Rey's true identity. Theories such as her being a Skywalker, a Kenobi, and some even believe that she does not have a family have all been brought up in the past.

However, the latter may well seem to have been doused by no other than "The Force Awakens" director J.J. Abrams himself in the bonus add-ons of the film's DVD/Blu-ray copy. The additional clips include Abrams talking about the scene where she came across with Luke's blue lightsaber.

Fans might still remember the scene of a young girl being dragged by someone while screaming at a leaving spacecraft begging for it to come back. That part of "The Force Awakens" was confirmed by Abrams as the younger version of Rey distressed over the fact that her family is leaving her, according to Express.

Abrams added that in Rey's vision scene in "Star Wars Episode 7," she soon discovered that the little girl screaming was actually her younger self as she was taken away from her family. The director went on stating that the visions also revealed to her the verity of the Force alongside her disturbing past not to mention the voice that called her was indeed Obi-Wan Kenobi.

In the interim, now that "The Last Jedi" teaser has been shelled out at Disney's recent earnings call, "Star Wars" pundits have been comparing it to "The Empire Strikes Back" where there will be another Jedi in the works and be pitted later on against a new threat - the First Order. Furthermore, "The Force Awakens" also had its fair share of critics as some of them said that its storyline is quite similar to "A New Hope," Comicbook reported.

"Star Wars Episode 8: The Last Jedi" will be out on December 15. Watch a couple of videos featuring Rey's vision scene and Ridley being asked about "The Last Jedi:"
