OnePlus 5 is rumored to be the next flagship smartphone to be launched by OnePlus and has been on the rumor mill for the past several weeks. The latest leak of its alleged wallpaper suggests that the rumored phone will sport a Full HD resolution display screen.

The said wallpaper surfaced via the popular leakster Evan Blass, also known as @evleaks on Twitter. The post does not state that it is from the OnePlus 5, but many are speculating that it came from a flagship phone, which will have a 1080 pixel resolution, Ubergizmo reported.

It has also been pointed out that the image differs from the previous wallpaper for the OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T that were created by Hampus Olsson, a Swedish illustrator, but the leak can also suggest that a launch is imminent. The community is expecting a May or June 2017 unveiling.

If rumors prove to be true, the company also skipped the name with the number four on it, which is commonly associated with bad luck among the Chinese. Hence the next flagship model is aptly called OnePlus 5.

Specs wise, the rumored smartphone is speculated to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 and may likely include either a 6GB or 8GB RAM, while the internal storage could be 64GB. The display screen will likely be around 5.5-inch in size and will include an AMOLED display panel, PC Advisor added.

OnePlus 5 is also expected to have an Android 7.0 Nougat mobile operating system but will be masked by its own OxygenOS user interface. A 4,000 mAh battery could arrive with the device and could also be equipped with the Dash Charge quick-charging technology.

Other sources suggest that storage space is upgradeable up to 256GB via the use of a microSD card, while its main optics is rumored to include a 23 MP sensor. Internal components will be protected by its ceramic body.
