With the impending release of "Game of Thrones" Season 7 to the small screens, the showrunners and some of its cast members revealed a few interesting details about the remaining episodes. Sophie Turner and Maisie Williams, along with executive producers David Benioff and Dan Weiss, even answered some of the fans' questions about the HBO series.

Details about "Game of Thrones" Season 7 has been sparse with the HBO show's cast and crew members determined to keep the storyline a secret from avid fans. Recently, showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss, as well as Sophie Turner and Maisie Williams, revealed their thoughts about the series during the South by Southwest Film Festival. Held on March 12, Sunday, in Texas, Benioff even confirmed the episode count for the upcoming final season.

After the "Game of Thrones" Season 7 broadcast, the final season will only have six episodes, according to the said executive producer. Moreover, the showrunner hinted that Sansa (Sophie Turner) may soon meet her demise in the HBO series, Entertainment Weekly quoted Benioff as saying. He stated, "We argued over who got to kill Sansa."

Maisie Williams also teased of Sansa's death during the said event. When Sophie Turner was asked why she still has blonde hair instead of Sansa's iconic red hair, the younger actress teased that Sansa died in "Game of Thrones" Season 7, the fansite Winter is Coming quoted the celebrity as saying.

At this time, it is unclear if Maisie Williams' revelation was meant to be a joke. Given that the cast and crew have already completed filming activities for "Game of Thrones" Season 7 and started preparations for the final season, the actresses might have been given advance knowledge of their respective characters' fate. The two showrunners also neither denied nor confirmed the British star's statement although Benioff joked, shortly after the actress' shocking pronouncement, that the attendees of the event will not tell anyone about Sansa's death.

Meanwhile, when a fan asked whether one of Daenerys' (Emilia Clarke) dragons could be controlled by a White Walker, showrunner Benioff responded with a "maybe." However, it is unclear if the speculated scenario will happen in either "Game of Thrones" Season 7 or the series' final season.

"Game of Thrones" Season 7 will premiere on July 16, Sunday, on HBO. However, unlike previous seasons, the upcoming penultimate season will only seven episodes instead of ten.
