‘Gambit’ Movie News: Director Quits, Replacement Confirmed? Release Date Unchanged!
The "Gambit" movie shooting is postponed as the original director, Rupert Wyatt, quit. As 20th Century Fox is left to find a replacement, news surfaced that Doug Liman has been confirmed to helm the film, this according to speculation from fans.

A news that Channing Tatum is persuading "Edge of Tomorrow & The Bourne Identity" director Doug Liman for the movie tweeted by The Wrap's Jeff Sneider on Sunday. There are two other directors said to be in the list for directing "Gambit", The "Iron Man 3" director Shane Black and "Attack The Block" Joe Cornish, according to a source of Heroic Hollywood.
In recent comparison, Black has an advantage in terms of experience especially winning the "Iron Man 3" picture and being the director and writer of the "Predator reboot". While, Joe Cornish has one credit for story and screen writing for the movie "Ant-Man", according to Games Radar.
Both directors have recent experience with Marvels characters that have made huge hit to the industry. Although, Black is now attached to "Predator reboot" which will make the director at the end of the list to take the job, according to Screen Rant.
These three directors are the major choices for bringing Ragin' Cajun "Gambit" who turns objects into bombs to the big screen. Channing Tatum as Gambit is a good start and for the movie to have one of these directors will be solid foundation, according to Slash Film.
Doug Liman is still considered to be at the top priority list to sit on the director's chair in time for the released date of the film, according to Screen Rant.
