GFRIEND Awakened Fans With 'The Awakening' Album: Over 100,000 Pre-Orders Are Now Sold!

GFRIEND may have taken a break for some time but surely, their comeback is very much anticipated. In fact, the day before their expected return, the six-membered girl group have proven how they are still the hottest despite the short hiatus.

According to GFRIEND's agency, Source Music, their fourth mini album entitled "The Awakening" has just come out a few days ago but now, it already has a plethora of pre-orders made.

"GFRIEND's fourth mini-album 'The Awakening' became available for sale on February 27 and has now surpassed 100,000 pre-orders," Source Music stated as per Soompi.

This is nothing new for the girls of GFRIEND. In fact, their first studio album, entitled "LOL," intended for their last comeback has gained over 60,000 pre-orders. This means that the album has achieved a new record compared to their previous one by a large margin of about 66 percent.

The new concept of their album, "The Awakening," has become fiercer compared to the former ones. This includes GFRIEND's "Fingertip," a funky disco-rock song and their traditional synchronised dance moves. The song was produced by Yong Bae and Lee Gi.

GFRIEND's song, "Fingertip," has also broken a new record of over 1 million views just for its teaser.
Meanwhile, their album is expected to come out today, March 6.

GFRIEND was formed under Source Music in 2015 and is consist of six amazing, talented girls namely Sowon, Yerin, Eunha, Yuju, SinB, and Umji. After debuting on 2015 with EP Season of Glass, the group had since then received several awards such as the "2015 Female Rookie Awards."

In 2016, GFRIEND has gone on with their success and has even won first place in various music shows with their hit song "Rough." Meanwhile, their promotions of "Navillera" have let the girls win in 14 music shows while making them one of the most-awarded girl group with a total of 29 wins in a year.
