WATCH BlackPink's Jisoo Get Upset As She Declines Gift From Beloved Fans
While it is normal for fans to give gifts to their idols, some of the stars are not allowed to receive the presents, instead gently reject most of it. As heartbreaking as it sounds, these stories are true, especially with BlackPink.
A few months ago, photos of BlackPink's Jisoo were captured as she gently declined gifts from her beloved fans. Another video captured the 22-year-old singer sitting in front of a black van together with her fellow bandmates. There were varieties of gifts ranging from small to big. In the video, she was seen rejecting a huge white paper bag along with some other gifts. This is because it is against the rules made for the idols, therefore, the have to accept or reject most of it at a particular time.
This is definitely heartbreaking for rejected fans, but this also makes Jisoo upset as seen on her video.
Fortunately to those who have brought little thoughtful gifts such as a small plastic item and a black and yellow kitten notepad. Apparently, idols are not allowed to accept expensive presents, instead only small cheap ones.
Some speculations, as per Koreaboo, suggest that the reason for rejecting most gifts is because of the so-called "Kim Young Ran Law" which has taken effect in 2015.
The law says: "Kim Young Ran is the former head of the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission (ACRC). The law proposed that any anyone who accepted bribes in excess of one million won, regardless of whether they are given any favors in return, be sent to jail for at least three years. Despite controversies, it passed the National Assembly on March 3, 2015."
Hopefully, fans will understand this and the struggle for their idols in obliging the rule. After all, they were just following the rules and were declining gifts as politely as possible.
