Simon Cowell Joins ‘America’s Got Talent' As Judge; Set To Cameo On ‘American Idol’ Finale?
English talent mentor and producer Simon Cowell will join "America's Got Talent" as its new judge for the upcoming 11th season of the longtime reality talent competition on TV according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Cowell, 56, became a household name as one of the original judges for "American Idol," where he got known for his upfront remarks on the contestants' performances. He stayed in the show until 2010. He was replaced by Steven Tyler from the popular rock band Aerosmith.
With Simon Cowell now in "America's Got Talent," how does he feel this time? Well, he is actually excited to be included in the next season as one of its judges.
"What I love about this show is that it's open to absolutely anyone," according to him, "America has some fantastic talent just waiting to be discovered, and I would like that talent to come to our show, including any dogs who can sing!"
Looking back at "American Idol," Cowell revealed that he had good memories with the show, which will conclude its 15-year run next year. He also confirmed that he will be present for its final episode according to a report from USA Today.
He even suggested how he is supposed to make his upcoming appearance in "Idol": "I've suggested that it ends with me sweeping the floor. I kind of want a cameo role. I'm sure I'll be there on the night. And it's going to be an emotional night. It's going to bring back a lot of good memories."
He also expressed his gratitude for what it had done in his career and that he have known and found amazing artists in its run.
Simon Cowell will be at "America's Got Talent," joining current judges Howie Mandel, Spice Girl's Melanie B and Heidi Klum. He will replace Howard Stern for the upcoming 11th season, which will premiere in 2016. At present, the show is conducting a series of auditions for aspiring contestants.
