BTS Copied BIG BANG T.O.P.'s Performance, Fans Demand Apology

The recent performance of BTS in the 6th Gaon Music Awards sparked much controversy after netizens claimed that the group copied the solo performance of T.O.P. in BIGBANG's concerts. BTS' number is one of the major highlights in the awards ceremony. Netizens had much to say about the group's performance of "Save Me" and fans took to Twitter demanding BTS to apologize for plagiarizing BIGBANG's T.O.P.

BTS may be one of the most popular idol groups in Korea but the group is currently battling a plagiarism issue. Many netizens are insisting that the group needs to apologize for copying BIGBANG's style during their performance. BTS performance of "Save Me" started with a "no signal" screen. This is the same concept that T.O.P. uses during his performances.

To support their claims, fans compared videos of the BIGBANG and BTS performances. The trend #No_Signal_Please apologise received several retweets in Twitter after the end of the group's performance. Some fans are urging YG to take action since BTS seems to be copying everything that BIGBANG does. The same sentiments are common in many kpop forums too.

While there are some fans who think BTS needs to say sorry for copying BIGBANG, BTS supporters were also quick to defend the kpop group. There were some netizens who maintain that BTS is not at fault since BIGBANG is not the only group that ever did a "no signal" screen during their performance. These people believe that other kpop fans are just overreacting and that BTS has nothing to apologize about.

It should be noted that this was not the first time that BTS faced accusations of plagiarizing BIGBANG. Back in May 2016, ARMYs and VIPs had a heated debate about a plagiarism issue. Fans are still engaged in a heated battle on which group is the original and whether BTS should say sorry to BIGBANG and admit that they plagiarized.
