Hallyu star Lee Min Ho uplifted the lives of many by donating 50 million KRW to victims of domestic violence. The "Legends of the Blue Sea" star donated a staggering amount equivalent to approximately 44,000 USD through his donation platform PROMIZ.

PROMIZ and the NGO Good Neighbors organized the social media campaign "Making a Warm Winter for Both Body and Heart" from January 16 to 26 through both of the organization's Facebook pages. PROMIZ vowed to make the donation once the campaign's official Facebook post reached more than 1,000 likes.

"Many people were able to participate in this campaign since it was through our social media. We will hold more donation campaigns with PROMIZ from now on," stated Good Neighbors, according to Soompi. PROMIZ, a wordplay of the English word "promise" and the 29-year-old actor's fanclub name MINOZ, kicked off in 2014 with their first project aimed at providing healthy water resources.

Lee Min Ho planned to promote new campaign each year and even promised to donate 100 KRW to the needy each time a new member joins the site. His charity platform was awarded the "2017 National Brand Grand Prize."

"Whatever profit we make from a project, we would donate to a certain cause or contribute to an organization. PROMIZ closely monitors how its contributions are used because transparency is essential in making donations," said the actor in an interview with INQUIRER.NET last year.

Lee Min Ho encouraged fans to donate as he believed that one's intention for giving is more important than the amount. "My goal is to change perception about giving money for charity," he said. "Many people still think that this is only for the rich. I used to think like this too, but it isn't true. Just begin by donating the smallest amount you can afford to donate. You'll soon realize how easy it is to support worthy causes."

Lee Min Ho used his celebrity status to give back and inspire the habit of giving by collaborating with Holt International Children's Service last year, donating to Hope Primary School in China's Guangzhou province and to the victims of the 2015 Nepal earthquake and participating with his "Heirs" co-star Park Shin Hye in Cheil Worldwide Charity's event.
