Former 2NE1 member Minzy recorded a song with American singer-songwriter Jay Park for her much anticipated solo album. Minzy's management label Music Works quickly stepped up to confirm the reports that surfaced Wednesday surrounding a collaborative project between the former YG artist and Jay Park.

The label clarified, however, that fans would still have to wait for some time before the release of Minzy's solo album. "It's true that [Minzy] recorded a song with Jay Park," allkpop quoted Music Works as saying. "But we only have a recorded song, and nothing besides that has been confirmed. We are simply in the preliminary stages of preparing for her solo album."

A source from the agency also denied rumors that Minzy will finally drop her solo album in April or May. "We have not yet decided on a title track and we are currently still discussing on the timing of her comeback," stated the source, according to Soompi.

Minzy began working on her solo album since last year and even teased fans with her collaboration with the 29-year-old hip hop artist as she posted a photo of them together. Both artists share a common ground as Park also used to be a member of the boy band 2PM until his controversial departure in 2009. They're also renowned for their dancing skills.

Minzy left 2NE1 in April last year and moved to Music Works to venture as a solo artist but has joined instead a new girl group through the KBS2 reality show "Slam Dunk Unnies Season 2." She revealed her reason for joining the hew girl group during the show's first episode.

She explained, "I definitely thought about how people might view me for 'joining' a new girl group after I left one to go solo, but I viewed [this opportunity] more as a chance to meet good people in my life. I thought that it would be fun to make memories with these people."  The 22-year-old artist also confessed what the now-defunct girl group 2NE1 means to her.

"[2NE1] received so much love and support from the public. It defines my roots," said Minzy. Stay tuned to Korea Portal for the latest news and updates about the Minzy and Jay Park collaboration.
