‘Kingdom Hearts 3’ Updates: 4 Things That Square Enix Unveiled In Game’s Latest Teaser Image
"Kingdom Hearts 3" is one of the highly-awaited gaming titles to be released by Square Enix. Recently, a teaser image revealed some interesting elements about the upcoming PS4 and Xbox One game.
Avid gamers will soon see beloved Disney characters and the iconic Sora embark on a new adventure in Square Enix's "Kingdom Hearts 3." Details about the said title have been scarce, however, the game's director Tetsuya Nomura unveiled an in-game screenshot during the Monaco Anime Game International Conferences (MAGIC) 2017 and below are four gaming elements featured in the said image:
Elaborate Hercules world named Thebes
The latest image gave fans a glimpse at one of the worlds included in "Kingdom Hearts 3." Set in a Hercules-inspired world, the in-game location Thebes features stately structures filled with towering stone columns and what appears to be the remains of a marble depiction of a hero or god.
New Heartless enemy
Avid "Kingdom Hearts" fans have seen the various iterations of Sora's black colored enemies called the Heartless. The new teaser image unveiled a massive Heartless enemy that wore an armor with chain-link accents and a shoulder piece with a sharp horn.
Closer look at Sora's Power Form
Apart from the new Heartless enemy, Nomura also revealed a closer look at Sora's shield which is part of the said protagonist's Power Form, according to French news outlet Gameblog, as cited by iDigital Times. The "Kingdom Hearts 3" director stated at the MAGIC 2017 event, "The Keyblade turns into a lot of things. Here it is a shield, but it can also be transformed into a chariot."
Sora's Keyblade shield features electricity-like powers
Despite having to face a gigantic Heartless who wielded an equally large weapon, Sora was able to deflect most of the said villain's attack with his Keyblade shield. The screenshot even showed what appears to be a bolt of electricity emitting from the shield.
At this time, it is unclear if the Keyblade shield has other powers aside from blocking massive attacks. Neither Nomura nor Square Enix has shared Sora's new abilities in the upcoming game.
Meanwhile, many gamers were alarmed after the Xbox One logo was removed from the game's official website that sparked speculations of the game releasing only to PS4 consoles. However, Square Enix clarified that the logo was accidentally deleted when the website designer uploaded details of the PS4 exclusive "Kingdom Hearts 2.8 HD: Final Chapter Prologue" to the site, ICXM reported.
"Kingdom Hearts 3" is set for release on Xbox One and PS4 although game developers have yet to announced its launch date.
