Nirvana fans around the world remembered Kurt Cobain's 50th birthday on February 20. But most of all, his legacy is deeply remembered by his loved ones, especially his one and only daughter, Frances Bean.

The grunge icon fathered Frances Bean with Hole singer, Courtney Love. Cobain died on April 5, 1994, due to an alleged suicide. Today, as we pay tribute to his unforgettable work as a musician and as an individual, her daughter posted a heartwarming message on Instagram:

"Today would have been your 50th birthday, You are loved and you are missed. Thank you for giving me the GIFT of life. Forever your daughter, Frances Bean Cobain."

More than that, the 24-year old posted an emotional conversation between her and her grandmother, Kurt Cobain's mom. The latter said that her son would have been so proud of her and would say "that's MY daughter," via News Au.

On the other hand, BBC noted that Kurt Cobain is still very much loved by many. Of course, his music with Dave Grohl and Krist Novoselic really left a huge influence in the rock genre, especially in the 90's.

Aside from being the iconic face of grunge music, the new outlet listed many other reasons why his legacy lives and will still live on. More than his remarkable live performances, the late singer had been open about the way he saw the world.
